The New CD "Vigilant State" from Synchrony is a positive powerful musical experience. Track after track, the spirit of this artist unfolds with electric Guitar magic. The Guitar is powerful and beautifully layered over an uplifting force of music. The memorable guitar licks formulate a story composure. The anthem like arrangements are filled with excitement. This guitarist, arranger and composer has created a series of work known as Synchrony. The weaving guitar over an orchestrated rock foundation is the sound signature of this artist. His music going in one direction…. to create a foundation for his “singing guitar.”

For “SYNCHRONY” a new music category was needed. "VISIONARY MUSIC” SYNCHRONY is a unique instrumental artist taking his idea to the limit. He works completely alone. Writing, recording and playing all the instruments needed to create each musical piece. The singing guitar over the symphonic rock foundation is the sound signature of this artist.

Track #1 Time 4 Min 45 Sec.
Vigilante State

I always felt this way. It’s a dangerous place, you must keep your guard up. Living in the US is now is like Rome was 2000 years ago. Even the caveman had to make a club to defend his tribe. The song was to be simple just the grand Piano alone. I played the part for years Well the full percussion was added like all my songs My best fan Lorraine heard it (so where's the Guitar? your a Guitar player) No Guitar on this one well OK just some on the end fade. Well after not playing for about six weeks, I pick up the 59 Paul and the whole thing was done. I mean what you hear came singing out of me. So much for being simple. I let the magic take over and she was so right. It became the title song. This is my first all digital song, also my second with automation on the mix.

Track #2 Time 4 Min 42 Sec.
Up The Living Stream.

We are here for a short while we must embrace our time. I play with emotion and tears for those now gone. The Piano’s hypnotic pulse drives the rhythm, China cymbals accent the move. The five string bass pushes the low end with a Marching band drum. Two electric bow guitars add attention to the rhythm. I use two electric guitars and orchestrate there building lines. The lead is laid out over this in unison. I chopped off one minute on the mix for this CD. This song is recorded in Digital and transferred to tape.

Track #3 Time 4 Min 48 Sec
A Time Passed

I entered my studio on a snowy day. I was to start recording my last song for this CD an acoustic. Then I found this Piano piece. I recorded it back in 2002 September. I could use a piano sound alone but once again when it was almost finished I thought I should try the Guitar. The first notes I played knocked me over I was amazed it was all there. Again this is rare but when you’re making music anything could happen. This was my time. This piece was totally digital Radar and I used Megamix automation.

Track # 4 Time 3 Min 40 Sec.
Along the Way

Staring into a burning fire in the winter 2003 I think how a simple flame changed the evolution of man. Controlled fire the single most important find. That night a chant came though my guitar. I am moved by this timeless melody line. As always I rush to capture it. I enter my music space filled with new technology and old. I begin with excitement. How lucky I am surrounded with such great music tools to bring this piece together. I use an early wooded rotator instrument the underlying hymn of horns and bass’s are the backdrop for the layers of electric guitars. The white V & 59 Les Paul sings the chant.

Track # 5 Time 5 Min 24 Sec
The Chase

We never stop along the way. The never ending race for tomorrow is consuming. There is little time for now. I must use today for tomorrow. This is my first song for the new CD. I just finished writing my Book and the CD Outside the Mainstream was released to the US college radio airwaves. I am excited and unsure that I could top myself. The new Radar digital recorder is used for the first time, only to develop the idea. Tape is used for this one. To the dawn of a new day the sound begins in triumph. The guitar repeats a theme that the five string bass carries to life. Once again I get to the mountain top, march 2001

Track #6 Time 3 Min 50 Sec.
Now & Then

Sometimes going back is the best way to go ahead. The acoustic guitar was the first and to be the only instrument used on this piece. But the new fretless basses where next and after picking up the Les Paul the simple acoustic sound was no more. I return to my roots. I record with digital but transfer to tape, I still like the sound.

Track #7 Time 6 Min 40 Sec.
When the Spirits Dance

There is a silent reality that lives. We don’t see it or hear it, but it is all around us. For me it is found within the magic of music. I travel to and from it. My hands and fingers are guided to perform the notes. I then capture the sound. When the Spirits Dance. It is a simple, yet rich in layers of sounds. Organs, voices, basses, gongs, drums, chimes, bow guitars, and then layers of unison electric guitars sing. For me this is my music space Synchrony.

Track #8 Time 2 Min 44 sec.
Out of the Blue

After a trip in to the keys in the early spring 2003 this song so appropriately arrives Steaming from the 12 string acoustic it unfolds. The 58 Les Paul screams out in glory. Awake, we are refreshed and alive Out of the Blue. It is recorded in digital and transferred to tape.

Track # 9 Time 8 Min 36 Sec.
Sustained Change

The ingredient of evolution. I wrote this in 1980 It just came out on an old stand up piano. It was my first composed music piece without electric Guitar. I was the conductor for the first time. A new challenge. A story of evolution was visualized in my head and I composed it. Recorded it 2001 for a Jack Larsen presentation. It took four weeks to record. I never changed a thing. What came out back in 1980 on that old stand up Piano was it. The visual story is yet undone and I can still see it every time it’s played back.

Track #10 Time 5 Min 35
Sec To the new Days

Today I plant my dream seeds. I look ahead and welcome what tomorrow shall bring. I stand here now upon yesterdays tomorrow and welcome the new days that are now here. As news comes in from our U.S. college Radio campaign, Synchrony is well received. For the next ten months I am in the top ten MP3 charts for New Age Artist in NY City. I enter this piece of music slowly. I express thanks and remember past times. I celebrate where I have come and where I am going. To the new days we are alive.

Track #11 Time 9 Min 46 Sec
Kingdom of the Sound Pasture

As I get ready to release the Vigilant State CD I stop for one more song. I've been playing it for months with the 12 string. I think it could be good, but I never know until I work with it. The electric guitar was the last thing, but it didn't work. I was going to scrap it all. I rearranged the start tracks, erased some percussion & bass that was it. I feel like I entered into the sound kingdom, a state of mind. The music takes me over a journey I do not control. That is the moment in time I am an Artist. I used the 59 & 58 Les Paul. This piece was recorded in digital and used automation to assist in the mix.

All music written recorded produced and performed by Joseph T Lor Synchrony 2004

Vigilant State CD Time 1:55:00 sec

When I envision sound layers, I do not rest until I find them. There is a passion and persistence in every sound. I am the conductor of my dreams. When all this works, it is both real and unreal magic.

I must give many thanks for those who believed in me for so many years. As for extreme help in my life long dream there is one my friend, my spiritual repairman my wife Lorraine.
