A 4-piece Rock & Roll band hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Palominos self-titled debut effort contains eight original tracks recorded over a 7-day period at Sound of Music Studios (David Lowery of Cracker's Studio) in their hometown. The album was engineered, produced, and mixed by Al Weatherhead, who has worked with bands such as Sparklehorse, Hotel Lights, Denali, and Jason Molina (Magnolia Electric Company/ Songs: Ohia). Upon completion it was sent to the Kitchen in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for final mastering.
Their music could be described as a comfortable blend of vintage tube driven tones with a flair for modern influence tasteful vocal harmonies wrapped in a blanket of southern roots a strong emphasis is placed on songwriting, which is then escalated into a barrage of energy on the live stage
Due to a recent partnership with Tinderboxmusic, Palominos debut album has received heavy rotation on over 100 college radio stations across the country.
Recent accolades include a performance on the Emmy nominated PBS program THE MUSIC SEEN, a nomination to perform at the 2006 Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, GA, and reaching #9 on CMJ top 20 Adds Chart for issue #990.
