kBRANDOW is the name of the band and the brainchild of singer-songwriter ex-Fungo Mungo front-man Damion Gallegos..."I named the band after my mother Katherine L. Brandow (maiden name) sadly, she was suddenly taken in a tragic automobile accident on the 5th of May,late 90's and so many moons ago now...JUST LIKE THAT...it was then i began to find my way to writing and producing my own music and songs i feel are my diary/ wish list/ complaint sheet/ love/ hate-letters/ observations/ dreams...you get the pictures... i thought, well i mean...i felt it was spiritually the right thing to do..kBRANDOW would be the name of the band. My mom had a small green lower case "k" tattoo on her ankle ("Oh, high-school" she would answer back when i would ask what and how it got there) also, her personalized plates on her car also read "KBRANDO"(i'll tell you, i nailed that plate to her casket's bumper and carved my goodbye into the wood with a buck knife at her service so i wouldn't get denied on my own "some kind of good-bye") but there was not enough space on the plate for her whole last name. The butterfly on the album cover was my own mimic of an amazing collage she had made from late 60's & early 70's Vogue & Cosmopolitan and pictures from magazines she had cut up, it was about poster size as it was and still is in my mind, just standing there staring into it was a large part of my artistic adolescence, the entire self titled debut album "kBRANDOW" was essentially just Rj (Jeff RJF'ski is my best friend and drummer for almost a decade now as we have played music through many different changing life situations and musical-line ups only to keep finding we would always be the driving forces of this band and what it could be...i couldn't realize my music without his approach to the way i write songs now....i mean besides being super-hell-a-bad at drums he's been my best friend/soul- brother and i think that makes me very lucky to find that kind of righteous deal in one human-being.) and myself in our new recording studio (CHUB named after another amazing and taken spirit, sound mentor and friend "Chub Carrier") it was essentially my postcard to the both of them and a growing list of others on the other side. Fast forward to the now/ present and a fully-realized live musical performance art form,(with the return of Erik Smyth - old friend and you might say the original founding guitarist of the most early incarnations of kBRANDOW from the start with Damion and Rj's inception as Erik would introduce them to each other) the name and spirit of "kBRANDOW" has come to represent much more to us as a band ( now complete with our most esteemed new members...super bass pioneer and positive activist - Kai Eckhardt - and keyboardist Eric Levy...both you whom may know from "Garaj Mahal" among Kai's many credits ...), but now also as individuals playing our part in some thing much bigger than us all as we focus all this amazing talent and positive momentum into a brand new band performing our new collection of songs to be recoded in July for an exclusive iTunes release / kBRANDOW album documentary film by director Clay Kempf/ kTour De Force...all for Summer 2008...I CAN NOT WAIT TO PLAY LIVE!!!! and get with all of you people out there reading this now and that type of energy exchange...if you can hear me, you can feel me." and that's all that really matters anyways while I live and breath here and now...thanks for listening!!!! kBRANDOW LOVES YOU!!!!!

-look for the kBRANDOW debut single "Lost" in the new film "Purple Violets" by actor/ writer/ director Ed Burns, you can purchase the movie on itunes now!!!

LEAD AND ADDITIONAL PIANO TRACKS BY Phil Bennett (ON "OKAY" "NUTSHELL" "SMOKE CLEARS" "KNOW")...ALL FOR PURCHASE...AND...

LET US KNOW IF YOU WANT THE REAL CD AND MAYBE WE WILL SHIP YOU ONE!!!!!
