Cold Water Mystic formed in October 2005, in Brookfield, IL to create some of the skunkiest, melodic, rock-driven original music that your ears have heard in quite some time. It's a mixed musical cocktail filled with funk, rock, reggae, hip-hop, jazz, and a splash of blues to kick start the buzz. It's "feel good" music with an edge.
Overall the first year in the life of Cold Water Mystic has been a success! CWM has recorded their 1st full-length album, funded solely from their show proceeds. They continue to play long live sets with a great draw and have bolstered their My Space account to almost 25,000 plays in less than a year with many downloads to go with it.
In addition to Internet promotions we have been approached and worked several times with Corona, Miller Lite and Heineken street teams and managers on promotional events.

How often can you say you've walked into a bar, happen to hear a random band playing, and fell in love with everything from the vocals, to the drums, to the crowd itself? This is the impression I left with after hearing Cold Water Mystic play at Kazzbaar in Forest Park. True, the venue was small but on that note, the normally not so packed place became flooded with a sea of rockers partying the night away to the high energy performance from these guys.
Brookfield natives: Dan Hull (vocals) , Martin Rodriguez (guitar/vocals), Darius Narbutaitus (bass), Cory Seidelman (percussion), Jon Truhlar (drums) blew the night away, as well as the doors off Kazzbaar with what you could say was a fair mix of funk, hip hop, reggae, blues, and rock and roll.
Wow, quite a mouthful!
This group started on time, elevated the crowd immediately and left us at that level for the duration of the show. With Hull's vocals, this group sounds like Incubus, 311, and Sublime all rolled into one.
From their album "Lazy Dayz" came two great hits "Get up, get off" and "Minimum Wage" along with a handful of amazing covers of Sublime, Spacehog, and Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M."
I suggest you check out their website at www.coldwatermystic.com or at MySpace and become familiar with these guys because this won't be the last time you hear their name.
In fact they're just getting started!
Feel free to check them out at one of their several events scheduled for the next 4 months including: Hi Tops, Penny Road Pub, Illinois Brewing Company, and The Note (kick-off for Emergenza 2007). Enjoy!
