What is Ragga Kreyol?

Ragga is electronic music (Highly influenced by Dancehall Reggae, Hip Hop, Caribbean Music, Reggaeton and Dance Music)

Kreyol is the native language of Haiti, the country of origin for all the artists.

Ragga Kreyol artists record mainly in English, Kreyol & French.

With more than 2 million young Haitians between the ages of 18-35 living outside of Haiti (primarily in the USA, Canada and France) an underground music scene has emerged.



Chevry Records located in Harlem, NYC has gathered 10 of Hip Hop & Ragga Kreyol’s top underground artists to launch a new music genre and album entitled Ragga Kreyol. When most people think of music from Haiti, it's the laid back sound of Kompa (Compas)or the roots rhythms of Racine or Rara, now the Haitian music industry is about to get a needed dose of energy. H. Ralph Chevry, the founder and CEO of Chevry Records is very excited about this move. An independent artist himself, Ralph Chevry has provided the lead single "Ayiti Cheri (Haiti My Love) for the album.

With what seems to be only bad news coming out of Haiti due to its political instability each artist provides their take on Haiti, its people and culture. From party anthems to political laced lyrics, the audience is captivated by the varied energies that is Ragga Kreyol.
