I am andy. I love drums, apologising and pubs. I love books, but only ones with pictures. Usually ones about drums or amazing country pubs.
Music
This face belongs to Carl and that's me. I play bass in this band. I emigrated from the clean and crispy cold north (Sweden) to dirty old London Town with all its decadence and pubs about four years ago. There I found Razorlight and I had to take a break from my normal life as keeper of peace and quiet and embrace the gutters of Camden and Soho and Seven Sisters and whatnot.
Everybody has to do it at least once and if you can handle it you're sorted - ish. If nothing else its great fun! Johnny was a great teacher and Björn was my lifeline back to the old country. It sort of feels like I lost my identity a bit on the way though cause I can't really see myself moving back to Sweden not yet at least I do agree with Johnny that New York City is a damn great place maybe the best in the world but live in America? Hmm enough about that enjoy this page and write more messages it's amazing to see that people from all over the world come here and leave us little notes Cheers everybody!
Books
In late 2002, Björn was living in a two-bedroom flat in Camden, with 12 other Swedes and selling jeans to tourists on Carnaby Street. He was the only person in London who answered Johnny's ad in the new music express - "guitarist wanted, no pentatonics." He grew up in an isolated house in the Swedish countryside playing guitar and talking to birds. After chucking his first guitar out of a second-story window, he got himself an SG and crossed the north sea to London, under the spiritual tutelage of Johnny Marr, Steve Jones, Bob Quine and Josh Homme.
I am Johnny, I sing and write songs for Razorlight. I also play guitar and run around a lot on stage. I like Humphrey Bogart films when I have a hangover, Leonard Cohen, Klaus Kinski, sushi and sashimi, moto guzzi, dizzying sensations, Muhammad Ali, Milan Kundera, NYC, London and Paris, Prince, Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth, The Justin Valli Trio, Tom Wolfe, Radiance, getaways, ginko press, Nick Broomfield, working out, maps, Malcolm Macdowell, R-E-M-, flowers at the airport, Delacroix's orphan girl, Kings Of Leon, espn classic ringside marathon, old english surnames, Beethoven's "Eroica", Laszlo Kovacs, Elvis Presley, the yellow Ducati sport classic 1000, the first 10 second's of "Long Hot Summer Night", challenging yourself, Michael de la Maza, early 60s Keith Richard, and of course.... you.
When I am happy I listen to 'Keep The Car Running' by The Arcade Fire. When I am tired I remind myself that 'la vie peut etre triste mais elle est toujours belle.'
Well, they were right about the gig...over 60,000 people attended the birthday of the VW Transporter in Hannover at the Messe. Our band "The Bulli Allstars" played the afternoon to get the people started. MTV Europe, Patrice, were there and Barbara Shoenenberger hosted (what a fox). They set up 2 gigantic stages 90 degrees from each other and sandwiched the crowd in the middle. Easier to rotate the bands. We started and Sasha then Sweetie Glitter and then THE WHO..To close out the night we finished with another hour of songs.. The party was really the backstage area.. I made a total ass of myself..sang "Pinball wizard" and gave a "Smile Baby" CD to Roger D. (Hey he laughed) Pete Townsend stayed in his dressing area. Rabbit (Hammond) was really a nice and talkative guy. (we had a Hammond player too, Wolfman). I stayed up all day and night(did not want to miss a thing) I only had to sing about 4 songs.
We should be getting better pictures and articles soon so I will post on the site.
i'm trying. not yet though. only through karaoke at the local bar. thats about as far as its gone. i've been writing songs, but i don't play an instrument . . . so i have had no luck there.
