Disonic - n. [ properly pronounced "dis-sonic" ]: A unique word describing this five piece hard rock unit with its members hailing from the north, south, and west corners of the Chicagoland area. Founded in early 2001, Disonic has strived to combine powerful, hard-driving rhythms with soulful melodies and poignant lyrics in a long-standing effort to maintain the integrity and tradition of their gritty Chicago hard rock scene.
While some of their biggest influences can immediately be heard (Nonpoint, Breaking Benjamin, Trapt, Shinedown), the band is quick to demonstrate their diverse range of sound. With the help of their 2006 self-titled EP, produced by John Dolye(Disturbed, Sum 41, Drowning Pool), Disonic tours heavily and enjoys regular mainstream, college, and internet radio airplay.
The members of Disonic are:
Dave Kohut (lead guitar/programming)
Chris Reyno (rhythm guitar)
Shane Riley (drums)
Brian Paz (bass)
Marq Withers (lead vocals)

Q101 CHICAGO STREET FIGHT!
Stop me if you've heard this one before......two Chicago bands walk into a bar, after a night of drinking, words get tossed around, voices raised, attitudes amped, and suddenly everything spills outside. Two Chicago bands take each other on Crips and Bloods style, under the diffuse light of a Chicago city street . Only one band will live to fight a new night--you decide which one!
At 1 a.m. Tuesday-Friday, James VanOsdol stands on the sideline to view the carnage. You call and tell him which of the two Chicago bands you hear should be played again, and which band should be rushed to Northwestern Memorial. Call, and tell them your vote is WALK AWAY by DISONIC. Request Line - (312)591-8300
THANK YOU TO THE GREAT CITY OF CHICAGO & 'BURBS!!!
We did it!! Thanks to all your votes on Q101 FM, we've managed to pull off our 10th consecutive Streetfight victory!! Our song "Walk Away" has now officially been retired from the Q101 Streetfight, and we now join our friends Inept as one of only two bands that have ever accomplished that feat.
We couldn't ask for a better show of support from our friends and fans, and we are truly grateful for all the late nights spent calling and texting for us. Special thanks goes out to Q101's James Van Osdell for giving the song a chance in the first place, and also to all the bands we competed against on the air. It was an amazing ride.
Thanks and much love to everyone in the Chicagoland area for supporting local rock!! We love you all!!!
