Overnight Low - The much anticipated follow-up to "Real Strong Stuff" hits consistent highs. In the title track, Colvin sings about the time he "rode his thumb" across country. The horn section shines here, but the story is the thing and Colvin tells it masterfully. Autobiographical songs carry the listener along, including the inspired "Destiny" and the darker, jazz-influenced, "Still Ready", where Colvin remembers driving his father home from the local bars as a child. Ultimately though, it's tracks 7 and 8 that might show Big Hands at his best. "Heaven" features Colvin's smoky vocals, and some of the record's heaviest lyrics, and "Diamonds in the Sand" moves like a modern spiritual, riding Colvin's voice and the incredible fiddle of guest artist, Julie Beaver.
"Colvin has been on the road too long for overnight success, but with Overnight Low he continues to establish himself as one of the more interesting independent singer-songwriters around." -- Johnny "Michigan" Morris.
Like Marc Cohn, Lyle Lovett and Bonnie Raitt, Big Hands Colvin’s musical style is difficult to define—a little bit blues, a little bit country, a little bit soul. Whether he’s songwriting, singing, playing sax or guitar—Big Hands is a big talent.
Formerly a frontman for the Central-Coast-of-California-based, Big Daddy’s Rhythm & Blues Band, Colvin has played with or opened for a number of well-known artists including: Tom Scott, Jesse Colin Young, Johhny Winter Geoff Muldaur and Nelson Braxton.
Big Hands Colvin has also toured extensively as a member of the Cardiff Reefers, Rock Steady Posse and Eric Ellsworth Band. He is a professional songwriter with an impressive collection of solid originals—and the voice to compete with anyone in the genre.
He and his wife live in Northern Washington State. Colvin is presently in the studio working on a solo project.

"overnight low" et al - very cool. Smooth vocals go down right... excellent instrumentation. Thought provoking lyrics set to rhythms that fit like a (much loved) broken in catcher's mitt. Thanks for such tunes Big Hands.
