03 Jan 2007, 12:17 am / I feel...I think...

First I would like to wish EVERYONE a

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

This year is looking positive in every way!  I have been browsing through news articles online as I recover from the Holidays. (food, drinks, more food, more drinks)

I thought I would share some information I read since the feeling of "Threat" is strongly felt from Myspace employees against Sonicjive.

SIDE NOTE: I still am baffled why a website created as a "Community Website" would feel threatend by our website that is created for "Artists & Fans".  Although the profile pages are a similar layout prior to ones own creativity...its obvious the relationships, marketing and promotion of bands are more "close nit" than a larger monster site such as Myspace.

Here is some interesting news I read:

NEWS:Judit Nagy, Vice President of consumer insights at Fox Interactive Media, which oversees MySpace, also says the drop in visitors in September is seasonal. But she acknowledges that MySpace is "moving from a growth spurt into a phase of maturity."

Angelas Thoughts: Myspace is stable and content in thier position evidently. If anything, people are getting bored with the same old thing.  In my opinion, Myspace is thinking ..why change something thats not broken? Right?  So...what this tells me is that Myspace is not planning on promoting/marketing bands, such as Sonicjive will do.  Not only acting as full support for Bands, Sonicjive is making it fun for the members (fans) as well by creating contests and offering points for future purchases JUST FOR STAYING ACTIVE!!!  Sounds like a good twist, a fresh new site for music lovers and musicians to share success! (again, just a thought as I sip on my evening tea)

So I will end this short news break with an old "HOUSE MUSIC" song I remember dancing to when I was 16 at Discovery (an old under age dance club in Illinois) haha..

"Cant we all just GET ALONG?"

I mean...seriously. We are one big SonicJive family that SIMPLY wants an outlet created to be more personable for Artists & Fans to stay in touch & share music, ideas and most important get rewarded for doing so!

Can I get a "Whoop Whoop"!  HAPPY 2007 ALL!!

My Comments

Yes, It is true.  I have tried submitting our band to be a featured band as well on that site  and we recieved the same comment back.  So I agree!  There are so many LOST bands on that site that NEED to be noticed. Not only has some of the rules changed...but NOW they only have the top 100 bands in each catagory...Do you have any idea how to be a TOP 100???  You must be a part of what they call a "Whore Train" to get friends.  Well, My thought is...We want people to want to hear us because of the music we play...Not because we want to add fake fans to get us on a top 100.  Sonicjive is all about GETTING YOU HEARD!  Trust me when I say, we will do everything we can NOT to hide you in a corner! Everyone deserved to be highlighted for thier success!

Thank you for the comments!  ANGELA
